We start with a free 1 hour consultation, to gather information around your requirements and asses what we are able to do for you. Once we are both agreed on moving forward, we can then look more deeply into your history. Once our research is complete, we will provide you with a full report, a print out of your tree, and all documents we have acquired during our research. Plus, we can offer you a backup of the tree (gedcom file) and all digital material found on USB stick for you to keep.

Your Family Tree

Believe it or not, there is a difference between Genealogy & Family History. Genealogy primarily focuses on the collection and verification of names, dates, and places related to a family's lineage. It is a more formal and systematic study of family descent. Whereas Family History encompasses genealogy, but goes further to include the broader context of ancestors' lives. It aims to provide a narrative that includes stories, personal experiences, and social history.

If you are looking for the facts about your ancestry, such as who's who and where, along with who is related to who - in short, you are looking for a family tree of your ancestors. Then we can help.
We can trace your ancestors through Civil Registration, Parish records & Census returns, to build your tree.

We will provide you with a tree, built through our research, which will include locations, Birth/Marriage/ Death records, and census returns. Like our Family History Service, we will provide you with a print out of your tree, all documents we have acquired during our research. Plus, a backup of the tree (gedcom file) and all digital material found on USB stick for you to keep.

Our Costs of Service

I offer a free initial video consultation, or in person if local, where we can discuss your requirements and decide how best to proceed. We have several options available when it comes to costs. The standard fee when researching & reporting, is £25 per hour, with a 2 hour minimum, or I offer a few discount packages;

Plus any expenses for travel (25p per mile) and costs for documentation which will always be communicated in advance. All tasks undertaken require a £50 deposit before work commences.
All Packages include a full written report which will detail our findings, along with a breakdown of time spent on each area.

If for any reason I am unable to complete the work, (this does not include researching but unable to find anything), then a full refund will be given, minus any expenses incurred, and I will advise of other Genealogists who may specialise in the area required, inline with AGRA's code of practice.
